{Boots – Esquivel, Dress – DV by Dolce Vita (sold out, but try this one for fall), Bag – Celine, Sunglasses – D&G, Bracelets – Hermes, J.Crew, Watch – Michael Kors.}

I don’t know about you, but I spent the majority of 8th/9th grade in full-on 90’s Grunge mode. I was still living in Germany at the time, and there it meant high-top Doc Marten Boots (that I proudly purchased on a weekend trip to London), oversized flannel dresses, loads of silver rings/earrings & a beaten-up leather backpack while listening to Nirvana & Pearl Jam. Ahhh…the good old days.

This is my 2012 ode to those days past….with a new favorite pair of gold high-top boots (you know I can’t resist anything metallic!), a loose-fitting silk dress, and my favorite Celine bag in tow. What’s your favorite fashion memory from your past??

Happy Friday, Lovelies! TGIF, right!? These beautiful Summer weekends make me reluctantly fear anticipate Fall. And when I think Fall, I think of a switch in color combinations. One of my absolute favorite “Autumnal” combos is Navy & Camel! It’s so classic and elegant, but also fresh and refined with the current saturated and bright navy pieces out there. This inspiration board started with these fun MIA platform shoes…I came across these babies a few weeks ago and was immediately drawn in. They recently arrived, and they’re not only unusual and on-trend, they’re also incredibly comfortable!! What’s your color take as the Summer Season slowly comes to its end?

Miss Renaissance Vintage Chanel Jacket

{Jumpsuit – Ginger & Smart (old), Bralette- Xirena, Leather Jacket – Chanel (Vintage), Heels – Jean Michele Cazabat, Bag – Jerome Dreyfuss (old, similar here), Watch – Michael Kors, Bracelets – Hermes & In God We Trust.}

This Jumpsuit is one of my all-time favorite travel purchases! I found this baby while traveling through Australia last year, but somehow my goal of wearing it as much as possible fell by the wayside (boo!)…so showing it off here makes me a very happy lady! The architectural city background perfectly complements the steely grey of the look, dontcha think!?

Pattern Play

{Jeans – AG Farrah, Blouse – Vintage Celine, Belt – J.Crew (old) similar here, Leather Jacket – Mike & Chris (old), Shoes – YSL (from Bluefly’s last big sale), Bag – Chanel (my very first Chanel purchase a bunch of years ago!), Watch – Michael Kors, Sunglasses – Chanel (old), Bracelets – Vintage, Rings – Me&Ro and Etsy.}

I totally freaked out was pleasantly surprised when I found this amazing Vintage Celine Blouse at last month’s Randolph Street Antique Market! It’s the perfect combination of fun & sophistication and I LOVE the bright floral pattern. I built this outfit around the blouse and the uniquely colorful background (it’s one of my favorite Chicago Pizza Joints) made the shoot even more playful.

{Vintage} Mid-Winter Fun

Sometimes, even in the midst of Winter, a girl just wants to have some fun! So I thought to myself, “Why not blow up some balloons, put on an outfit with a sense of humor, and take a little Field Trip?!” Off to Chicago’s beautiful Field Museum we were! Thanks to a relatively mild & sunny day I was able to play with layers and keep my coat off most of the time. How do you keep your Winter interesting & fun? I’d love to hear your stories!

{Dress & Coat by Opening Ceremony (found on Super Sale on my most recent trip to LA), Striped Shirt by Zara (old), Sheer Tights by Topshop, Flat Bow Shoes by J.Crew, Platform Heels by Theysken’s Theory (found at an accidental run-in with a NYC Sample Sale), Gloves by Zara (old), Belt by Urban Outfitters (old), Sunglasses by Oliver People’s, Watch by Michael Kors, Bracelets -All Vintage, Rings – Vintage & Me and Ro, Lipstick, MAC in Lickable.}

Brightly Knit

{Sweater by J.Crew (on Sale, different color combo HERE), White Blouse by Equipment, Jeans by Textile Elizabeth & James (old), Boots by Robert Clergerie, Sunglasses – Vintage Dior, Earrings – Vintage Chanel Clips, Watch by Michael Kors, Bracelets – Handmade by Masai Women on a recent trip to Africa, Bag by Jerome Dreyfuss (sadly sold out).}

Sometimes a casual bright knit just does the trick! Paired with my favorite jeans and some chunky boots I’m ready to run errands, take my pup for a walk, or go for a low-key lunch. The textured bag and bright bracelets give the outfit the right amount of dimension and pop. What’s your go-to casual & bright outfit?
