Sometimes, I like to step away from my usual chocolate & carb-addiction-driven dessert creations and make something more unusual and “healthy”. Over the weekend, I got inspired to try this beautiful Poached Pear recipe, and it didn’t disappoint! As you can see in my pictures, the Pears came out a beautiful, deep red color – perfect for the Valentine’s Day Season. If you prefer white wine, this recipe will work just as well using a bottle of white, but you’ll lose the deep color. Aside from the few chocolate chips in the sauce, this recipe is virtually fat-free (but definitely not sugar-free!)
