{Equipments‘ Booth at the Capsule Tradeshow in NYC was beautiful! The new Men’s Line (right column) is incredible!! Guys, you better get on board.}

About 2 weeks ago, I flew to NYC for the Annual Capsule Tradeshow. The event was a blast – so many unique Booths & Clothes/Shoes/Accessories to see! I was tempted to order a million things, but I kept my cool and took pictures instead. One of my absolute favorite Brands – Equipment – had an amazing booth and I had a nice chat with Jessica, the Brand Representative at the show. Equipment’s amazing Silk Blouses have been my favorites for a while – my love for the Brand and its’ great Colors & Patters borders on obsession by now (I see a mini collection forming in my closet.) If you haven’t tried one of their Blouses yet, you should give it a go – the quality and fit is perfection. Jessica also introduced me to their upcoming Men’s Line – as you can see in the pictures above, the Quality and Fun Patterns are On Point!

Adventures in {Poaching}

Sometimes, I like to step away from my usual chocolate & carb-addiction-driven dessert creations and make something more unusual and “healthy”. Over the weekend, I got inspired to try this beautiful Poached Pear recipe, and it didn’t disappoint! As you can see in my pictures, the Pears came out a beautiful, deep red color – perfect for the Valentine’s Day Season. If you prefer white wine, this recipe will work just as well using a bottle of white, but you’ll lose the deep color. Aside from the few chocolate chips in the sauce, this recipe is virtually fat-free (but definitely not sugar-free!) Do you have any fun recipes that defy the usual cookie/cake/brownie/chocolate mold?? I’d love to hear about them.

Weekend Style Picks

Happy Friday, everyone!! My Weekend Style Picks are back for a 2nd week due to Popular Demand (thank you for the feedback!) I’m sure most of you have heard of & perused MyTheresa.com, right? Not only is it one of my favorite online shopping sites, MyTheresa also happens to be a German-based site. Gotta love my Motherland! Whenever I’m visiting Family & Friends back in Munich, I make sure to go to the original Theresa store to check out their latest goodies! Going through their newest offerings, and challenging myself to create several outfits from only a single site is quickly becoming a fun challenge that I truly enjoy. What are some of your favorite online fashion resources? I’d love to take this challenge to some new online territories in the upcoming weeks.

Have a great Weekend!

Weekly Color Inspiration {Island Dreaming}

{On all fingers, except index fingers, Essie Turquoise & Caicos. On index fingers, Essie Island Hopping.}

This week’s mid-Winter Mood brought with it Wishes & Dreams of Island-Hopping and lazily floating in Caribbean Waters. Ahh, a Girl can dream. For now, an Island-Inspired manicure will have to suffice. Aside from feeling subtly tropical, I love this color combo because it’s a play on saturated pastels – a trend I’m wholeheartedly embracing for Spring!

{Vintage} Mid-Winter Fun

Sometimes, even in the midst of Winter, a girl just wants to have some fun! So I thought to myself, “Why not blow up some balloons, put on an outfit with a sense of humor, and take a little Field Trip?!” Off to Chicago’s beautiful Field Museum we were! Thanks to a relatively mild & sunny day I was able to play with layers and keep my coat off most of the time. How do you keep your Winter interesting & fun? I’d love to hear your stories!

Sometimes All We Need Is A Little {Chocolate}

Ok, so I’m a complete Chocolate Fanatic!! Have always been….will always be! Over the years, my taste for Chocolate has grown from loving anything and everything that even remotely looked/tasted like Chocolate, to becoming a Chocolate Snob of sorts. These days, I tend to crave a more refined, dark & deeply flavored Chocolate. On most days a square or two of Dark Chocolate from one of my favorite brands (Green & Black’s, for example) is enough to tide me over until the next day. Sometimes (ok, fine – OFTEN) though, I feel the urge to indulge and have a truly refined Chocolate Dessert. In this case, nothing satisfies me more than a perfectly¬† rich Dark Chocolate Tart – preferably with a nice layer of Caramel Glaze on top! There, I said it.

The Tart pictured above has the perfect ratio of crust/filling/glaze. Using edible Gold Leaf to decorate this tart is a very simple way to glam it up. I like baking these in small, individual tart forms rather than making one big tart, but either way is divine.

Recipe for the Crust & Filling Here, and for the Caramel Glaze Here.

Have fun with your Chocolate!
